PGA Euro Pro tour day 3 at Galgorm Castle

Day 3 – I must be getting fitter after walking so much of this great course following golfers. Or as some might say stalking them! Today the weather and more particularly the light was not just difficult – it was rubbish. Difficult I can cope with but rubbish is what it is. There was a threating black cloud that seemes to have my name on it following me round the course.

Anyway moaning session over today I decided to try and integrate a little variety into the photography by looking at the photographers in the landscape of the course. Now there is the genesis of a project! Plus as always a quirky and slightly different golf photograph but you will need to scroll down to find that one. Yes as always It is at the end.

It’s golf week! so here’s more on the theme

Today (23rd June) was the first day of the PGA Euro Pro tour event at Galgorm Castle Golf club. Watching so many golf pros makes you realise how much these guys are athletes. The practice, the deliberation, the thought is amazing and the play is great to watch and even better to photograph. As always I am looking for my own take on the day so again some of my shots will not make golfing’s best ever photography but it will I hope give a flavour of the variety of photography available at days like these. I decided today to take advantage of some of the poor unfirtunates who made it into the bunker – sorry guys.

Yes I know – another sand photograph

Now I get too cocky for my own good and lay down with a wide angle lens close to John Gidney while he was practicing chip shots. Good thing his aim is spot on.

Finally for today Golf wouldn’t be the same without the spectators.

When I have no words, I can always smile

Today I was running in  the woods and I was about 2k into the wilderness when I passed a man walking along wearing a spiffy suit and tie.  He also had a golf club that he was using for a walking stick.  I think it was a 9 iron.
